A big warm hello to start off August and celebrate the arrival of the NEW MOON in LEO and the empowerment that it brings us all through the chest chakra. The moon goes into Leo on August 5th, but it will not be considered “new” until the sun and the moon are exactly at 14 degrees this month on Tuesday August 6, 2013 at 5:12 am PDT, 8:12 am EDT or 12:12 pm GMT.
To get the full scoop on this New Moon, please check out Irma Kaye Sawyers “Cosmic Weather” page. There is also some fun tidbits on the new moon on my Astrolosophy facebook page.
In my last article about the throat chakra, I shared a lot of information about the throat chakra and its similarities to the zodiac sign of Taurus. The summary is simple; listen to fears but don’t let them run your life. Hopefully this inspired some thought about the positive and negative role of fear; how to transcend fear, and transmute the knowledge of your issues that fear brings up into a road map of applied wisdom.
The Solar Plexus (Chest Chakra)
The Solar Plexus chakra is the seat of personal and physical power. This is the main chakra that helps us to receive , assimilate and express our vitality or zest for life. Please keep in mind that chakras also emit our energies out into the world like a cosmic antenna or GPS. The solar plexus or chest chakra is the link between your self-esteem and your will and plays an important role with governing how you interact with others.
Socializing With Symbols and Number Sequence
Look at the chest chakra as the social chakra. This bright yellow chakra has many of the same luminous, social and willful qualities of LEO: The Lion. For those of you that follow the Tarot, you also know that here is an association with the “Strength” or “Lust” card usually tied to the number *eight card. At the highest shared vibration, this s is the physical “Lion’s Gate.” This frequency corresponds to integrity, harmony and the sacred geometry that links mathematics to art. Eight is 22 (cubed) in sync with the Fibonacci sequence of the body which is the golden mean of 1.618 seen throughout nature.
While I won’t get into the number system of the Diatonic (8) or Chromatic (13) scales, their units are measured in octaves. Don’t let the jargon scare you away. Octave is just another word for frequency or cycles per second that occur between each peak. It is common knowledge that anything that begins with “OCT” usually is related to the number eight (8). The most important piece connecting number to the solar chakra and the sign of Leo, is that it serves as the tuning fork between the lower octaves of the physical chakras and the higher octaves of the spiritual chakras. This can be seen when you have too much intellectual stimulation and not enough physical activity or vice versa. At times, you may either have less energy for intellectual pursuits and quieting the mind or not enough physical activity from an overindulgence of the intellectual. Clearly, the goal is to try and balance the mind and the body as the spirit’s “chi,” “prana,” “ka,” or “kul,” declines as you pass through a state of imbalance.
Besides the regulation of the lower chakras to the higher chakras, the Solar Plexus chakra is about leadership. Introverted or extraverted, leaders can be blocked in distinct ways. But the common ground is that when you are going back and forth between feeling empowered and certain to feeling anxious or unsure, it is time to address this imbalance with exercise, plenty of yellow fruits and vegetables and lovely citrine or tiger’s eye gemstones. I would also recommend lots of lemon and ginger tea and of course, plenty of exercise. After all, elimination is one of the side effects of a blocked or unbalanced chest chakra. Fiber, visual arts, and solitude can also help facilitate growth and balance. Don’t be afraid if you aren’t “the best” with keeping these ingredients in equilibrium. Consider the story of Chiron “the wounded healer,” suggests that the best healers are usually those people that are or once were “wounded” themselves.
Empowering yourself is the key!
You can empower yourself through the astrology readings I provide. You can do that through the books and postings of Irma Kaye Sawyer and Michael Alperstein is the best “abundance coach” you could ask for. Beverly Jo offers ascension gatherings, Ixchel Tucker offers amazing adventures quests and Elinrós Henriksdotter offers the most beautiful prayers of courage that definitely can help you. There are many options presented here and even more options available through the use of your mind and intuition.
Happy New Moon!
Have a great week!
*In some systems the “strength” card is tied to the number 11 card.

Below are the Horoscopes of wisdom for the July 22-August 19, 2013. Some mythology about Aquarius is included but my idea of “horoscopes” is based on the wisdom of the 12 archetypes of the zodiac. This way if you are not “into” astrology, you can still see the relevance of these distinct personality types.
