The Law of Attraction really does work, so why isn’t it working for you? Or perhaps it worked so well for you that you recommended it to a friend who seemed to fail miserably at it even though they followed all of the recommended steps. No worries! The good news is that with some simple customization methods we will get you back on the road to success in no time.
Much of the literature regarding Law of Attraction techniques have generalized rules such as visualization, positive thinking, believing that what you receive in life is a result of the type of energy you put out, etc. But as I am fond of saying, we are not cookies made from the same cutter. What if you can’t visualize? Not everyone is visual. It can be a miserable feeling to sit through a guided meditation with lots of visual references and all your mind comes up with is a blank screen. It can also be a bit of a challenge to keep positive thoughts in mind when you don’t have the money to pay your bills and feed your family.
And what about your life being a result of the type of energy you put out. Does that mean it’s all your fault that your life isn’t going the way you want it to? After all, how hard can it be to visualize and stay positive? Now on top of life seeming to be spiraling downward, you feel guilty for not being able to stop feeling badly about it which is then compounded by the feeling of perceived failure. What was supposed to make things better has actually seemed to make it worse because you feel like you can’t make what should be an easy system work for you. This is not your fault. You are not broken but your law of attraction method probably is because it is not customized to or for you.
In this series of articles, we are going to address different but common reasons that can hinder your law of attraction efforts beginning with visualization. Thankfully, there are other methods that can be used that are just as effective.
Use Your Imagination
You might not be able to visualize but I bet you can imagine. Remember when you were a child and imagined being a famous ballerina or astronaut? Maybe you imagined being a fighter pilot or dreamed of what your wedding gown would look like. Even now you might imagine winning the lottery or getting that big screen TV you always wanted. Your imagination is one of the most powerful tools you possess and it’s something no one can ever take from you. You can use it for guided meditations just by imagining the scene they describe as opposed to trying to visualize it. When focusing on your goal, instead of trying to visualize it, simply imagine achieving it and how wonderful that would feel.
Pretending is another effective way to replace visualization. Let’s travel back in time again to when you were a child. Did you jump off your bed while pretending you could fly like a super hero? Did you play with your doll or teddy bear and pretend it was a precious living being that sat down to tea with you? Perhaps you threw a sheet over some chairs and pretended it was a fort that you were valiantly guarding against enemy forces. You can still use the awesome technique of pretending when doing guided visualizations or meditating on what you wish to achieve. Instead of visualizing strolling down a beautiful garden path, just pretend you are. Or, instead of visualizing sitting at the desk of your new job, sit back and pretend you are in your new office chair, happy and ready for work.
Write It Down and Read It Out Loud
Yet another way to effectively replace visualization is to sit down and write out exactly what your goals are. Instead of visualizing owning your new cherry red convertible, write down all of the attributes of the car you want, along with the cost of it so you know how much money you need to attract. Then on your paper write, I am so grateful to have the money (state amount) to buy my new cherry red convertible. This car is so awesome, it has (list attributes) and let yourself get excited with anticipation as you write down all of the features of your dream car. End with something like, “I am so fortunate and grateful to have this car” as though you already own it and then read the whole thing out loud. Why out loud? Because not only are your eyes seeing the words, you are also physically hearing them which gives you doubly strong attraction energy to help you get what you want. These are just a few ways to help you find a positive way to attract what you want without “visualization”. Once you start to consciously utilize your imagination, you will probably come up with more ways of your own.
