Early Childhood Education to Retain Knowledge of Inner Light

Overview and Mission:

To study the views of Harold W. Percival on the education and spiritual life of young children. His book, Man and Woman and Child, contains a special chapter addressed to parents that gives a simple but important method to help young children keep open the channels of communication with their “higher Selves” and retain knowledge of the inner Light with its power of illumination. It is through these channels that one may be “self-taught, ‘God’-taught, by actual in-tuition.” The method: Proper answers to significant questions (e.g., “Where did I come from?”), plus special questions put to the child – to help draw out the child’s inherent Self-knowledge. Mr. Percival states: “That [conscious self] in any human who can establish communication with its Thinker and Knower, especially from childhood, will open to the world the source of knowledge great beyond the most exalted dreams of humans.” My article, “Education Comes First,” gives an introductory, paraphrased summary of Percival’s method for educating children, and it can now be read online .
